PulmoSight: Lung Cancer Rapid Screening & Triage

A cross-institutional PolyU–HKUST student research prototype for AI-assisted chest CT review. PulmoSight is designed to flag suspicious lung nodules, classify risk, segment high-risk regions, and produce structured outputs that help clinical teams prioritise cases for physician review. It is a triage-support instrument, not an autonomous diagnostic system or replacement for clinical judgement.

Highlights

Purpose-built for rapid suspicious-case screening and triage rather than general radiology or long-term nodule management
Clinician-in-the-loop workflow: preprocessing, lung-region extraction, candidate analysis, risk classification, selective segmentation, structured output, visualisation, and physician review
Clear safety boundary: outputs support prioritisation and follow-up review; physicians remain responsible for final clinical decisions
Deployment concept considers smaller healthcare markets, localisation constraints, limited infrastructure, smaller annotation datasets, and medical-data privacy
